Engineering Manager of Test and Reliability directs, plans, and leads the activities for the test and reliability engineering development team in support of department objectives and in alignment with company vision, priorities, and strategies. This position works with other department leaders on resourcing, planning, and priorities to ensure projects and deliverables are completed on time and with exceptional quality of work.
This position ensures that the onboarding process, development, training, coaching, mentoring, and feedback is consistently being provided to the teams to ensure their continued growth and development. Also, that all team members understand their role and interdependencies with both the engineering shared services team and other teams and departments. It is essential that this role understands priorities and projects within the entire engineering department organization and can balance resources and priorities to meet timelines and deliver results on time. This position is also responsible that all work and activities of the company are accomplished in accordance with the company’s quality system.
In consultation with Director of Engineering – Shared services this individual provides guidance regarding resourcing (staffing, physical, and process) needs, capital equipment, space, and process needs / improvements regarding the needs of the systems and test and reliability development teams. Consults on topics such as vision, strategy, culture, and objectives. They will work with project and program management to encourage team members to collaborate, coordinate, and interact across projects and departments.
Department objectives are achieved, in large measure, through the execution of engineering and department projects/ objectives. This position works with Engineering Management to define, set, and monitor department goals and objectives specific to systems engineering and test and reliability development teams.
