Position Overview

Film and TV intern – As an Intern for Film and Television,  working with the Technical Consulting, you will be required to test and develop workflows in Houdini across a number of different context (crowds, Solaris, FX, CFX, KineFX, Copernicus). The specified workflows will come from customer feedback and will directly relevant to real world production.


Your work will be supervised by an industry veteran with over a decade of experience in film production. The length of the internship is 4 to 6 months. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to boost your Houdini skills and potential to strengthen your industry knowledge and exposure. This position is on-site in Toronto.


What you will be working on

  • Create solutions and problem solve in Houdini under the guidance of SideFX's technical support team.
  • Prepare materials to support training initiatives.
  • Learn new tools, techniques and applications
  • Maintain your scene files and document your work
  • Work along with and support teammates, and staff from other departments
  • Other duties as assigned


What you need to be successful 

  • Existing knowledge of Houdini
  • Understanding of 3D graphics pipeline and data flow (film/tv)
  • Must be self-driven and self-directed, but also enjoy to work with people
  • Must have existing demo reel that demonstrate comprehension of technical and artistic acuity

Location

This is an on-site role in our Toronto, Ontario office.

Our transit-friendly head office location, directly adjacent to Union Station in the heart of downtown Toronto, is open-concept with a relaxed style that includes, casual dress, and wraparound views from the 14th floor.
