Atomic Cartoons seeks an Accountant for a 3-6 month contract. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable (AP), including remittances for voice performers and writers following union guidelines; reviewing and reconciling monthly credit card statements and bank reconciliations; preparing GST/HST remittances; supporting month-end close procedures and quarterly working papers; and assisting team members as needed. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant post-secondary certificate or degree and 1-2 years of experience. Proficiency in Excel is mandatory, with NetSuite experience being an asset. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities are essential.

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception over 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Process AP, including remittances for voice performers and writers according to union guidelines.
  • Review and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare GST/HST remittances.
  • Support month end close procedures and prepare quarterly working papers.
  • Support fellow team members with tasks as needed. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • A Relevant post-secondary certificate or degree, training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel required.
  • Experience using NetSuite is an asset.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and become a strong contributing member of our team.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.

START DATE: ASAP

At Thunderbird Entertainment, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive pay. In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break, paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.

Wage ranges are based on an annual wage.

Vancouver Pay Range

$50,000 - $60,000 CAD
