The Senior Financial Analyst, Deals Desk at CAE Flight Services (CFS) is a key finance partner supporting Strategy & Commercial teams, directly impacting business growth. Responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models (P&L & CF) to assess deal economics, performing financial analysis of deals, ensuring deal proposals are financially sound and competitive, providing recommendations to maximize deal value, presenting financial analyses to senior leadership, reviewing contracts for financial concurrence, working with large datasets to develop insights, refining deal models and estimation processes, supporting pricing strategies, and working with internal finance teams on budgeting and strategic planning. The role requires strong financial modeling skills, business partnering abilities, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred), 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or deals, and proficiency in Excel.

Senior Financial Analyst, Deals Desk

The role we are offering you:

  • Build and maintain financial models (P&L & CF) to assess deal economics (profitability, payback, IRR, NPV, etc)
  • Perform financial analysis of deals- scenarios, sensitivities, pricing curves, comparatives
  • Work closely with Commercial & Strategy teams to ensure deal proposals are financially sound, competitive, and align with internal profitability goals.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to Commercial & Strategy teams to structure deals to maximize deal value.
  • Present financials and analysis during weekly deal review meetings with CFS senior leadership team including Group President.
  • Review proposals and customer contracts for financial concurrence and to ensure deal value is captured.
  • Work with large volume of data (pricing data, cost data, etc) to develop insights for deal reviews.
  • Work with cross functional teams (Finance, Delivery, Development, Customer Care, Technology) to continuously refine deal models and estimation process in order to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Support the design and development of pricing strategies (industry trends, competitive pricing, value-based pricing) to support our value proposition.
  • Work closely with internal finance teams (FP&A, reporting) to support and share key financial data to drive the CFS annual budget and strategic planning cycle.

Our Ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in either: financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, financial business analysis or deals, financial reporting, pricing strategy.
  • Comfortable working with financial models and navigating Excel to perform various financial analysis.
  • Strong business partnering skills and ability to influence decision making using data driven insights and analysis.
  • Self-starter and ability to demonstrate high level of initiative and autonomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, and strong presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail, with a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience in software & technology industry (preferred, but not required)
  • Bilingual (French and English). English is required as the role will predominately work with various cross functional teams based in USA.
