Job Description
The General Labor position involves safely handling lumber products, verifying material quality, and ensuring customer requirements are met. Key responsibilities include moving and securing lumber, stacking finished products, labeling materials, using a staple gun, bundling and securing materials, maintaining accurate inventory, recording production, and maintaining a clean work area. The role also involves assisting in other areas by moving material and participating in safety programs. The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and be able to work in a team environment. Must have:
- Safely handle lumber products.
- Verify material meets customer requirements and expectations.
- Stack finished products according to instructions.
- Label material based on specifications.
- Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.

Good to have:
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Job Summary
General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
- Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
- Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
- Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
- Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
- Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
- Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
- Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
- Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
- Records production on production sheets
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
- Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
- Performs other duties as required
- High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
- No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of basic math preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
