Staying updated on industry trends and best practices is also crucial. The role is based in Halifax, NS.
Must have:

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in querying and analyzing data, combined with the ability to tell compelling stories through PowerPoint and Excel. This role involves working with data related to IT risk management, leveraging analytics and possibly machine learning (ML) to uncover insights, and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders. Additional Information*  The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities:
  • Query, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in IT risk management including KRI, cyber securities, issues, findings, operational risk event etc.
  • Create compelling visual presentations and reports using PowerPoint and Excel to effectively communicate data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Apply machine learning and analytics techniques to analyze data and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions for IT risk management challenges.
  • Utilize tools like Tableau (nice to have) to create interactive dashboards and visualizations.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in IT risk management, data analytics, and machine learning.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience as an IT Risk Manager.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for storytelling and presentation creation.
  • Strong SQL skills to query and manipulate data efficiently.
  • Experience with machine learning and analytics techniques.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred, but not required:
  • Experience with Tableau for creating dashboards and visualizations.
  • Familiarity with IT risk management concepts and frameworks.
