Romero Games is looking for a Level Designer to join our growing team full-time. You will be responsible for creating game maps that align with the narrative and special features of our overall design. Working within the Level Design team, alongside your Lead and other departments, you will contribute to developing, defining, and establishing an engaging and enjoyable gameplay experience for our upcoming title.
Ideally, you can relocate to join us in Galway, Ireland, but a remote role is also possible for the right candidate in a European timezone. In your cover letter or email, please note your preference (remote/hybrid/onsite in Galway).

A good understanding of all aspects of level design such as: visual language, architectural composition, sign-posting, combat and encounter design, flow, game balance, delivery / support of game mechanics, difficulty tuning and pacing, etc.
Experience working in a Level Design position with at least 1 shipped AAA current gen console or PC title
Attention to detail
The ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines
The ability to work independently without close supervision
Experience in creating first or third person shooters
Good verbal and written communication skills
A passion for environment design and architectural concepts
Experience building levels using 3D level editing tools (Unreal 4, UnrealEd, Hammer, Radiant, etc.)
Experience prototyping maps and gameplay mechanics using Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar
Experience writing design documentation
Presentational skills and experience with PowerPoint or Keynote
Experience with source-control applications (SVN, Perforce, GIT, etc.)
Solid problem-solving skills including lateral thinking
Knowledge of gameplay event scripting and entity setup
Experience with Confluence and Jira
Unreal 4/5 Blueprints, Flow Graph, or other visual scripting software
Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar
Experience with scripting or programming language
Undergraduate degree in Video Game Design, Computer Science, Marketing, Entertainment or a form of technical training
