Onward Play is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Technical Mission Designer to create immersive gameplay experiences using Unreal Engine. Responsibilities include collaborating with design, art, and engineering teams; designing, implementing, and optimizing complex missions and quests; utilizing Unreal Engine's blueprint system; and ensuring proper functionality, balancing, and pacing. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional experience in mission design for video games, with at least 2 years using Unreal Engine. Strong proficiency in mission design tools, systems, and methodologies, with a deep understanding of gameplay mechanics and level design principles, and Unreal Engine's blueprint system and scripting languages are required. The role involves crafting engaging and memorable missions for a challenging and satisfying player experience. This is a full-time, on-site position in Los Angeles, California.

Onward Play is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Technical Mission Designer to join our dynamic video game studio clients. As a Technical Mission Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating immersive and engaging gameplay experiences using Unreal Engine. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and optimize complex missions, quests, and level-based content in our games.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the design, art, and engineering teams to conceptualize and develop compelling mission designs that align with the game's vision and mechanics.
  • Utilize your extensive knowledge of mission design principles, level scripting, and gameplay mechanics to create exciting and challenging missions that enhance player engagement.
  • Implement missions and quests using Unreal Engine's blueprint system, ensuring proper functionality, balancing, and pacing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mission design for video games, with at least 2 years of experience using Unreal Engine.
  • Strong proficiency in mission design tools, systems, and methodologies, with a deep understanding of gameplay mechanics and level design principles.
  • Unreal Engine's blueprint system and scripting languages.
  • Proven ability to design and implement engaging and memorable missions that provide a challenging and satisfying player experience.
