The LQA Lead role is to guide a multicultural Localization QA team, made by 15 in-house languages working for a world leading video games company. The LQA Lead will focus on testing management and will take part in project-related communication, working closely with the LQA Coordinator in Tokyo, to assure that all members of the team are synched-up, producing at maximum efficiency and according to client’s expectations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a passionate team and help them achieve their goals.

We are offering a 12-month FTC, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and other factors.

Responsibilities

Test case creation and maintenance 

  • Creating test cases following provided guidelines and ensure that test cases/checklists are constantly maintained and updated. 

Bug vetting 

  • Review the reported bugs for completeness, consistency and clarity, with a particular focus on eliminating ambiguity and ensuring compliance to clients' guidelines.
  • Triage and verify incoming bug reports and help Coordinators forward them to the correct assignee.

Result integrity 

  • Ensure that no major bugs, flaws or issues remain in the signed-off product and report them or concerns as early as possible. Make sure that the final product is compliant with the official standards and ready for submission.

Problem solving 

  • Enjoy pursuing and solving problems, escalate critical risks and issues to the LQA Coordinators and provide suggestions on how to resolve them. 

Cooperation 

  • Work closely with other in-house teams.

Communication 

  • Timely and professional customer-oriented communication (i.e. reply to queries, raise red flags/risks, be polite and proactive in suggesting problem solutions). 
  • Accurate reporting of test progress and project status.
  • Proactive communication about any issue that is blocking the team's progress or may pose a risk to the targeted deadline/submission as early as possible. 

Supervision 

  • Daily supervision of all test team members. 
  • Create a harmonized and enjoyable team environment. 
  • Responsiveness to project and product risk in managing day to day test activities and prioritizing tasks. 
  • Take notice of overall progress and noteworthy findings to report to the LQA Coordinator on a daily basis. 

Feedback 

  • Provide feedback on things that went well and potentials for improvement. 
  • Provide weekly reports about the status of the project, the performance of the team and highlighting positive/negative results and areas of concern.

Training and knowledge sharing 

  • Supporting the Coordinator in training the new LQA team members and subsequent performance management. 
  • Share knowledge and experience with the team and utilize experienced resources for support. 

Meetings 

  • Support the Coordinator when organizing regular meetings with the team to discuss the overall project status and progress. 
  • Chairing and participation of weekly test team meetings. 

Query handling 

  • Filter and forward queries from the team. 

Personal time management 

  • Ensure to handle your tasks in the designated time frame and rely on experienced resources to help with extended workload. 
  • Continuously work on your assigned task and avoid pushing out tasks to the deadline. 

Requirements

  • Understanding of the Game development life cycle and how it applies to LQA.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using development environment testing tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong observational skills, analytical and detail oriented.
  • Experience leading or co-leading projects an advantage.
  • Proactive in completing tasks and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Strong process focus, continuously looking for opportunities to improve.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong decisional skills.
