Salary: $80,000 + Northern Allowance

Ampere is looking for someone who’s organized, community-minded, and ready to help keep our Iqaluit office running smoothly! In this role, you’ll support both our team and our workplace by helping with hiring, training, office supplies, and welcoming guests. You don’t need office experience, but if you’ve helped organize community events, programs or on-the-land activities, supported others, or managed important details in another job, those are all valuable, transferable skills.

Responsibilities:
Human Resources Administration:
- Help prepare job offer letters and contracts when new staff are hired.
- Join interviews and help make sure the process feels welcoming and fair for applicants.
- Support onboarding for Nunavut-based staff so they feel ready and comfortable in their new role.
- Keep track of staff training and learning opportunities.
- Act as a point of contact for Human Resource-related inquiries from staff in Nunavut.
- Make sure we’re following Nunavut employment laws and supporting Inuit employment initiatives.
- Keep employee folders confidential and organized.
- Use computer programs such as Google Workspace, Monday.com, Slack and Lattice.
- Creating and delivering an Employee Wellness Program for the Nunavut staff.
Corporate Services:
- Be responsible for a weekly shop for office supplies and groceries for our employees and participants.
- Arrange airport pickups for visiting staff, clients, and partners.
- Help host meetings and guests in the Iqaluit office by organizing space, supplies, food, and setup, including for board meetings and small events.
- Keep the office tidy, safe and well-stocked.
- Help with local partnerships and community engagement efforts.
- Keep first aid kits up-to-date and aligned with required regulations.
- Willing to complete First Aid and CPR training as a designated first aider.
- Take part in health and safety planning, including emergency preparedness.
- Help with financial tasks like collecting receipts, preparing expense forms, and submitting invoices.
- Keep records organized and accurate for both finance and admin work.
Attributes and Qualifications:
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates, especially on-the-land and Inuit cultural activities.
- Being bilingual in Inuktitut and English is an asset.
- Experience supporting people through customer service, community programs, education, or similar roles.
- Friendly, welcoming, and professional when working with guests and coworkers.
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to keep track of tasks and follow through.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative when needed.
- Able to keep private information confidential and handle sensitive topics with care.
- Willing to complete First Aid and CPR training (we’ll cover the cost)
- Familiarity with Nunavut’s culture and business environment, or an openness to learning.
- A valid driver’s license is an asset for occasional errands and airport pickups
- Previous experience in HR, payroll, or office coordination is a bonus but not required.
