Job Description

As a Principal Architect, you'll lead cross-functional teams to design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies for Google Cloud's Hi-Tech and Manufacturing clients. You'll lead conversations, direct sales execution, and partner with Value Engineering to articulate the value of technical solutions. Responsibilities include building trusted advisory relationships with accounts (Architects, VPs, CTOs, CIOs), identifying customer priorities and technical objections, designing strategies across the Google ecosystem, providing domain expertise on public cloud and enterprise technology, making recommendations on integration strategies, and managing customer relationships. This role requires collaboration with specialists, product management, and technical teams, and involves up to 50% travel.

Must have:

10+ years enterprise architecture experience
Cloud computing expertise across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data
Experience engaging with technical and executive stakeholders
Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Good to have:

Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices
Hybrid cloud deployments and on-premise-to-cloud migration
Enterprise technology buying and evaluation process
Scale computing solutions and experience in building distributed global cloud systems
Hi-Tech and Manufacturing industry experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
Experience in enterprise technology buying and evaluation process paired with a understanding of scale computing solutions and experience in building, architecting, designing and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
Experience in, or supporting the Hi-Tech and Manufacturing industries.
Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally to position and orchestrate a solution consisting of multiple products.
Ability to drive and influence audiences and identify expansion engagements within accounts.

In this role, you will lead conversation, and direct the execution of the Sales team by combining both technical direction and business insight. You will partner with Value Engineering to articulate the value of each technical solution and the overall business partnership with Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

Build a trusted advisory relationship with accounts and engage with Architects, vice president Engineering, CTO and CIO, and identify customer priorities, technical objections and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem to deliver business value and resolve blockers.
Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.
Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution while providing practices to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
Manage the enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, technical teams, and more.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, up to 50% of the time or as required.
