Job Description

The Customer Engineer role at Google Cloud focuses on supporting financial services clients. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, addressing technical objections, and developing strategies to overcome blockers. The position requires expertise in machine learning, delivering product briefings, conducting proof-of-concept work, and collaborating with product management. You will work with customers to demonstrate Google Cloud product integrations, recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures, and implement solutions using best practices. Travel to customer sites and events is required. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills (fluent in Korean), significant experience in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration, and familiarity with various technologies including containers, CI/CD, and data analytics.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
6+ years experience in infrastructure modernization
Cloud migration & data center migration experience
Fluent Korean communication
Work with customers to resolve technical issues

Good to have:

Master's degree in Computer Science
Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
CI/CD experience (Jenkins, Spinnaker)
Modern application development technologies
Data & Analytics technology experience (BigQuery, Looker)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, or enterprise architect.
Experience in cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, application/servers assessment, or discovery.
Ability to communicate in Korean fluently to interact in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience with containers/associated technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices).
Experience with cloud-native software development methodologies and tools to support application development/deployment stages (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Concourse).
Experience with Modern Application Development technologies including CI/CD, Ant, Maven, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Saltstack and Terraform, and with Networking Technologies including software defined networks, DNS, Software Load Balancers, Network Authentication, and Identity Management.
Experience with Data and Analytics technology/product/solution (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, etc.).

Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Provide machine learning expertise to support the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
