About the Role
Macmillan Education South Africa is seeking a skilled Production Coordinator to join our TVET publishing team based in Midrand. As a Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire production process of Macmillan’s market-leading TVET publications. This includes coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely, efficient and high-quality production of printed and digital materials.
Role Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end production process, ensuring schedules are met and quality standards are upheld
Co-ordinate with publishing, editorial and marketing teams to align production timelines and deliverables
Liaise with external suppliers to obtain quotes, track progress of commissioned work and resolve any issues
Monitor and track budgets, costs and timelines to ensure projects stay within scope
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
Troubleshoot any production-related issues, ensuring a smooth workflow
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Matric certificate
Proficiency in electronic origination/composition (qualification an advantage)
Proven experience as a production coordinator/controller or in a similar role within publishing or print production
Strong understanding of publishing production processes, from concept to final delivery
Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of Adobe applications including but not limited to Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Good interpersonal and communication skills including written and spoken English
