Job Description

This role involves crafting product process and strategy for the LATAM, Brazil region on ByteDance's platforms with a focus on safety issues such as minor safety, hate speech, and cyber bullying. You will build regional Safety strategies, work closely with cross-functional partners, optimize moderation/audit processes, and draft safety-risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in UGC product management, data analysis, business risk assessment, and managing cross-functional projects.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 1 year of experience in UGC product management in LATAM or Brazil
  • 1 year of experience analyzing business data using SQL
  • 1 year of experience in business risk assessment and control development
  • Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese

Responsibilities Craft product process and strategy for the LATAM, Brazil region on our platforms with a focus on safety issues such as minor safety, hate speech, and cyber bullying by understanding user / community behavior and trends in the region, including the use of the language and local customs to make product recommendations based on available data. Build regional Safety strategies to improve market's safety performance and key metrics through data analysis, risk mitigation, cross-functional collaboration and training programs. Work closely with cross-functional partners (Content Policy, Product Management, Data Analytics, Operations, Engineering) to identify, assess, and resolve safety-related issues in our products, promoting community well-being and user safety with optimization of product features and product strategy. Work on regional strategy to maintain market health and user safety by connecting global programs and partners at a regional level. Optimize moderation/audit process and machine learning strategies and solve content concerns for local user with cross-functional teams. Draft safety-risk mitigation strategies for high-risk events. Address various scenarios including video, comments, follow/like, and accounts with both qualitative and quantitative approaches to detect potential risks in the community and craft features and strategies to mitigate these risks.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, International Business, Communications, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or a related field, and 1 year of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: User Generated Content (UGC) product management within the LATAM or Brazil market; Analyzing business operations data using data analytics tool SQL to improve business operational processes, tools, products, features, or programs; Collecting and analyzing data to anticipate, identify, and evaluate business risks and to develop integrated controls; Analyzing market and business metrics by leveraging and categorizing multiple datasets using MySQL and Excel to deliver strategic business insights; Managing projects involving cross-functional stakeholders to formulate workplan, drive alignment, coordinate collaboration, and deliver strategic business outcome; Organizing and coordinating project and program efforts of cross-functional, geographically distributed teams in support of multiple ongoing risk and compliance projects and programs; and Interfacing directly with team members, stakeholders, and organization leaders to communicate objectives, status, risk, and updates. TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Domestic and/or international travel up to 10% required. FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: MUST BE FLUENT IN BOTH WRITTEN AND SPOKEN PORTUGUESE.
