The Public Cloud Business Development Associate will foster growth through collaboration with Microsoft Azure. They will drive joint business efforts, enable sales teams, and facilitate engagement activities. Responsibilities include managing activities, enabling sales teams, understanding Microsoft's initiatives, building relationships, and participating in events. The role requires managing joint sell-with and go-to-market activities with Microsoft, enabling PANW sales teams to work effectively with Microsoft sales teams, understanding and articulating Microsoft’s strategic initiatives and leveraging these to increase opportunities for Microsoft, PANW, and our partners, building and maintaining relationships with key personnel at Microsoft and facilitating engagement, attending and participating in Microsoft events and seminars, facilitating and driving co-selling opportunities, account mapping and other sales engagements between PANW’s field sales and Microsoft sales teams, providing an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales issues for any activity with Microsoft. The role is pivotal for expanding the Azure business within a dynamic environment.
Must have:
  • BA/BS Degree in Business or related field
  • 0-2 years of work experience
  • Familiarity with MS Excel or Google Sheets
  • Ability to work both in-person and virtually
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good to have:
  • Public Cloud experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience in Sales or Business Development
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

Your Career The Public Cloud Business Development Associate will pursue non-linear growth for Palo Alto Networks (PANW) through closer and smarter collaboration with Microsoft Azure. This is a unique opportunity to learn how PANW, the leader in cybersecurity, partners with Microsoft Azure, one of the largest public cloud providers in the US, to enable customer growth. The Business Development Associate will assist in driving our joint business with Azure. They will assist with enabling our teams on how we solve customer needs with our Better Together integrations. They will drive our sales pipeline through engagement activities and marketing events in partnership with our sales team. You will also support the execution of deals. The Business Development Associate will be part of the team that is the central conduit for engagement between the PANW sales organization and Microsoft Azure account teams. This team collaborates with other internal departments that are key to our partnership, such as sales, marketing and product development. In addition, the Associate will have consistent interactions with ecosystem partners in support of sell-with activities with Microsoft. We need an individual with a growth mindset, who is ready to learn the Azure go-to-market and value proposition, as well as how we are able to accelerate customer success together. Your Impact
  • Manage joint sell-with and go-to-market activities with Microsoft
  • Enable, PANW sales teams to work effectively with Microsoft sales teams to expand and accelerate deals and benefit our customers
  • Understand and articulate the Microsoft’s strategic initiatives and leverage these to increase opportunities for Microsoft, PANW, and our partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with key personnel at Microsoft and facilitate engagement
  • Attend and participate in Microsoft events and seminars
  • Facilitate and drive co-selling opportunities, account mapping and other sales engagements between PANW’s field sales and Microsoft sales teams
  • Provide an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales issues for any activity with Microsoft
Your Experience 
  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 0-2 years of work experience (open to more).
  • Familiarity with MS Excel or Google Sheets (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Public Cloud experience preferred (AWS, Google Cloud/GCP, Microsoft Azure, or Oracle/OCI)
  • Experience in Sales or Business Development is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work both in-person and virtually
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment, but can also take initiative
  • Communication (written and verbal), negotiation and presentation skills
  • Have a proactive attitude and motivation to do whatever necessary to assist in winning business
  • Can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand technical concepts; have enthusiasm for technology and be able to articulate clearly to all levels of technical aptitude
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is preferred
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

Compensation Disclosure The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $86K - $119K/YR.
