Job Summary
At Synechron, the QA Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. This position supports our commitment to deliver high-quality software solutions by performing thorough manual testing and collaborating with our development teams to enhance the overall product. The QA Engineer contributes to business objectives by ensuring our software products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and driving business success.
Software Requirements
Required:
- Familiarity with testing tools such as JIRA, TestRail (or equivalent), and Bugzilla.
- Experience with any version control systems like Git or SVN.
Preferred:
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium or QTP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
Overall Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing on software applications to ensure quality and functionality.
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Execute test cases and report results accurately and promptly.
- Participate in test planning and test case design activities to enhance testing efficiency.
- Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of manual testing processes and methodologies.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing or related field.
- Experience in working within Agile development teams is highly desirable.
- Candidates with internship experience or relevant work exposure in software testing will be considered.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Conduct manual testing on software applications to validate their functionality and performance.
- Actively collaborate with development teams to comprehend requirements and ensure thorough test coverage.
- Regularly execute test cases, meticulously report results, and track defects to closure.
- Participate in regular meetings for test planning and design activities.
- Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant certifications, such as ISTQB, are a plus.
