Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior FX Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating high-quality visual effects using Houdini and Redshift. You will work closely with the VFX Supervisor and other departments to deliver stunning, photorealistic effects that meet the creative vision of our projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Designing and creating high-end visual effects, including simulations of smoke, fire, water, destruction, and magical elements.
• Using Houdini to develop complex simulations and procedural workflows.
• Implementing and optimizing shaders, lighting, and rendering techniques using Redshift.
• Collaborating closely with the VFX Supervisor and other team members to ensure the FX elements are seamlessly integrated into the final shot.
• Working with other departments like Lighting, Compositing, and Animation to ensure a smooth project flow and consistency across all assets.
• Addressing technical challenges related to FX production, including optimizing scenes for rendering and simulation performance.
• Providing creative solutions to meet the artistic and technical requirements of the project.
• Mentoring and guiding junior FX artists, providing feedback and helping to develop their skills.
• Contributing to team reviews and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Contributing to the development and enhancement of FX workflows and pipelines.
• Staying updated with the latest tools, techniques, and industry trends to maintain a cutting-edge FX pipeline.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8+ years of experience as an FX Artist in the VFX industry, with at least 4 years in a senior role.
• Advanced knowledge of Houdini for FX creation.
• Proficiency in Redshift for rendering.
• Familiarity with other software like Maya, Nuke, and Python scripting (a plus).
• A strong understanding of physical dynamics, fluid simulations, particle systems, and photorealistic rendering.
• Experience in a variety of FX, such as volumetrics, rigid body simulations, and procedural modeling.
• The ability to troubleshoot and optimize FX scenes for efficient rendering.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing your FX work, particularly in Houdini and Redshift.
