Job Description

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Front End, to contribute to their Google Cloud team. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging and resolving system issues. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years with front-end frameworks and full-stack/API development, as well as experience with testing, maintenance and software product launches. The role involves managing project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. Technical expertise and leadership qualities are essential. The role offers opportunities to work on critical projects and switch teams as the business evolves.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years front-end framework experience
Experience with testing, maintenance, and product launches
Proficiency in software design and architecture
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS or related field
Technical leadership experience
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or Application Programming Interface (API) development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write and test product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
