This Senior Software Engineer role focuses on Google's Production 2020 (P2020) Rollouts program, aiming to reduce engineering time spent on basic service management. The Rollouts product suite simplifies code, configuration, and deployment processes. The role involves working with stakeholders across Rollouts, Technical Infrastructure (TI), GCP, and Trusted Partner Cloud (TPC) to define operational requirements, implement changes across various systems, and ensure reliable, fast deployments. It requires strong software development skills, experience with system design and architecture, and collaboration across teams.
Must have:
  • 5+ years software development experience
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms
  • 3+ years testing/launching software
  • 1+ year software design & architecture
  • Application Development & Systems Engineering experience
  • Collaboration with stakeholders
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in CS
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Experience with accessible technologies
  • Go or C++ experience
  • Familiarity with declarative service management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with Application Development and Systems Engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience with Go or C++.
  • Familiarity with declarative service management, such as Prodspec/Annealing.
