As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing contracts, defining KPIs and SLAs, and translating them into business and data requirements. You'll collaborate with data engineers and architects to create functional and non-functional requirements, manage backlogs, and support testing. Client-facing responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, leading workshops, and developing reporting specifications. You will identify trends and gaps in service performance and provide recommendations. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple priorities.
Must have:
  • 6+ years of experience in technical or business analysis roles.
  • Experience with KPI/SLA frameworks from service contracts.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and workshop facilitation.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and backlog management tools.
Good to have:
  • Understanding of data pipelines and data modeling concepts is highly desirable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical and Internal Responsibilities:

  • Contract Interpretation & Requirements Development
    Analyze service contracts, performance agreements, and technical appendices to extract and define KPI and SLA obligations. Translate these into detailed business and data requirements.
  • Technical Requirements Authoring
    Collaborate with data engineers and architects to develop precise functional and non-functional requirements for data solutions, ensuring alignment with backend data capabilities and constraints.
  • Data-Driven Analysis & Validation
    Perform data analysis to validate assumptions, ensure data availability and quality, and assist in shaping reporting specifications for compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Backlog Management & User Story Creation
    Write and maintain high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases in tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps. Manage and prioritize work across multiple streams in an Agile or hybrid environment.
  • Solution Design Collaboration
    Contribute to solution design reviews, ensuring technical implementations align with business intent and contractual deliverables.
  • Testing & Sign-Off Support
    Support UAT and regression testing by validating that developed outputs meet business expectations, particularly with respect to KPI/SLA logic and data accuracy.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
    Produce clear and structured documentation, including business requirement documents (BRDs), process flows, data mappings, and user guides.

Client-Facing & Stakeholder Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    Liaise with internal business units, program managers, and technical leads to gather requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure alignment between operational needs and data capabilities.
  • Workshops & Facilitation
    Lead customer-facing workshops to gather requirements, clarify contractual interpretations, and socialize solution designs. Act as a key liaison between business SMEs and technical delivery teams.
  • KPI/SLA Program Management
    Champion the ongoing evolution and standardization of KPI and SLA metrics, working across delivery teams to ensure consistency, traceability, and transparency in performance measurement.
  • Reporting Specification Development
    Define specifications for dashboards and reports that reflect contractual performance, internal operational metrics, and executive oversight needs.
  • Service Performance Insights
    Identify trends and gaps in service performance based on KPI reporting, and provide insights and recommendations for improvements to delivery teams or clients.
  • Change Management Support
    Assist in managing the impact of contractual, regulatory, or operational changes on reporting and data systems by assessing requirements and coordinating necessary updates.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 6+ years in a technical or business analysis role, ideally with a strong focus on data-driven environments.
  • Proven experience working with KPI/SLA frameworks derived from service or operations-based contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, workshop facilitation, and cross-functional engagement.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SQL and ability to query and interpret data
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and backlog management tools (JIRA, Confluence, ADO)
  • Understanding of data pipelines and data modeling concepts is highly desirable

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to clients
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
