The Company
My client is more than a gaming studio. They make ultra-realistic simulations to assist with military training, saving countless lives in the process. They build AAA experiences that assist in training the United States Military and her allies all over the world, improving readiness & efficiency. The simulators are currently being used by Navy SEALs, the Air Force & Marine Special Forces. With a tonne of investment under their belt and the security of long-term military contracts, they are financially sound with a steady and stable pipeline.
The Role
As they grow more vast training capabilities, they’ve grown the need for a couple of Senior Unity Developers to join the team. This is for a new ground-up project! As a Senior Engineer you will be a senior technical member of the foundation team, playing a pivotal part in designing, developing, deploying and maintaining the next generation of military training projects. An important part of this role is to build sophisticated features and development capabilities. If you like developing architecture in detail-rich environments, rolling up your sleeves and writing code, and ultimately building groundbreaking, best in class innovative products, all the while making a difference and saving lives, we want you!
Responsibilities
- Direct and build a new foundation and features for our training products
- Influence technology roadmap for our products
- Collaborate with cross functional teams
- Coaching and mentoring
- Provide accurate estimates on deliverables for yourself and help your team do the same
- Identify and mitigate technology risks during early stages of development
- Identify the right choice of tools & technologies to get us to success
Requirements
- 5-10 years working in Console or PC games
- Deep experience in Unity
- Hands-on experience in building detail-rich environments
- Understanding of object-oriented design patterns and design principles
- Experience working with C++ and C#
- Excellent troubleshooting & root cause analysis skills
- Ability to work in ambiguity from high-level direction
- Exposure to VR would be ideal
- Exposure to FPS games, military strategy, vehicle-driven games, and/or highly detailed simulators will be highly regarded.
- First-hand Military experience would be advantageous.
