Our client is an UK subsidiary of a Global Financial Institution.
Role is for an experienced Business Analyst/Tester to join their SEPA Instant Project. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in validating and ensuring the performance, functionality, and compliance of SEPA Instant Payment systems. This position requires an in-depth understanding of SEPA Instant Payment schemes, payment processing workflows, and testing methodologies to support the rollout and ongoing maintenance of high-quality payment services.
> Test Planning and Strategy:
Design test strategies, plans, and scripts for SEPA Instant Payment systems.
Ensure alignment with SEPA Instant Scheme requirements and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives and scope.
> Test Execution and Reporting:
Conduct functional, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing for SEPA Instant systems.
Validate payment flows, including processing times, limits, and compliance rules.
Simulate real-time transactions and assess system behavior under various scenarios.
Document and track test results, defects, and issues using test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
> Automation and Continuous Improvement:
Develop and maintain automated test scripts for SEPA Instant Payment scenarios.
Identify areas of improvement and propose enhancements to testing processes.
Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure testing meets the regulatory requirements outlined in the SEPA Instant Payment Scheme.
Validate security features such as encryption, authentication, and fraud detection mechanisms.
> Collaboration and Communication:
Work with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements.
Communicate test progress, risks, and results to project managers and stakeholders.
Provide input on best practices and testing methodologies specific to SEPA Instant systems.
Must have
3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or Tester role, preferably in banking or financial services.
Must Have: Proven experience in testing SEPA Instant Payments
Familiarity with payment message formats such as ISO 20022, SWIFT, or XML.
Strong knowledge of SEPA Instant Scheme rules, SLAs, and compliance guidelines.
Good to Have: Any experience with GPP and Direct Clearing
Previous experience in payment engine upgrades, migrations, or similar projects is highly desirable.
Tools and Technology:
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail).
Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar frameworks.
Understanding of API testing and service virtualization.

Detail-oriented with excellent documentation abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
Experience in ISO20022 implementation
ISTQB Certification or equivalent.
Relevant certifications in SEPA or payment systems.
