Job Description

As a Software Engineer on the Google Assistant team, you'll develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging issues, and managing project deliverables. The ideal candidate possesses strong software development skills (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript), experience with large-scale system design and is versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full-stack. You'll collaborate with peers and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality software solutions and contribute to Google's ongoing innovation.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1+ years software development experience
Proficiency in at least one programming language
Code writing, review, and debugging
Project management and delivery

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
