Job Description
Scopely is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join the Looney Tunes team in Bangalore. Responsibilities include collaborating on designing, building, and maintaining features and products; offering input on design and architecture; connecting with team members to establish pipelines and integrate assets; providing production support and troubleshooting; and building technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of software development experience, proficiency in Java and C#, experience with SOA and REST principles, and familiarity with AWS. The role requires working on scalable architectures, multi-threaded applications, and experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools.
Must have:
- 5+ years software development experience
- Proficiency in Java and C#
- SOA & REST design principles experience
- Scalable architecture and web systems expertise
- Experience with performance testing and tuning
- Multi-threaded application experience
Good to have:
- Apache Thrift Framework
- Docker experience
- AWS (EC2, Fargate, RDS) familiarity

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with team to design, build, and maintain new and existing features and products
- Offer input on design and architecture, adhering to industry practice for development
- Connect with all team members to establish a pipeline and integrate art assets, considering the game roadmap
- Define engineering with industry practice
- Provide production support, system diagnosis, and troubleshooting
- Build and maintain technical documentation
What We’re Looking For
- Over 5 years of software development experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with Java and C#.
- Experience working on applications using SOA and REST design principles
- Extensive experience in the architecture and development of web systems and APIs
- Experience working with scalable architectures and environments
- Experience with performance testing and tuning applications
- Experience working on multi-threaded applications
- Experience with Apache Thrift Framework is a bonus.
- Familiarity with container-based solutions like Docker.
- Familiar operating solutions running in AWS with EC2, Fargate and RDS.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, optimization, scalability, and elasticity of systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of automation and orchestration of systems using CI/CD
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform
- Understanding of parallel and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of design/programming industry practices and various design patterns
- Experience working in scrum/agile teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
