The Challenge Ahead

We are currently seeking a skilled Audio Sound Effects Editor and Librarian for our department. You will take care of editing, tagging and organizing our valuable audio recordings into library formats.

This key role is perfect for audio librarians or career starters/changers with a great ear and organizational skills, who enjoy helping others while maintaining positivity and inclusivity. This is an opportunity to gain experience and build connections in the global audio development community at EA.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and metatag EA-owned SFX archives for our library

  • Edit and metatag new recordings and designed SFX for our library

  • Assist with sound effects field recording and foley for our library 

  • Be the point of contact for library and recording standards

  • Maintain SFX Library software licenses, network access, and shared databases (Soundminer and Soundly)

  • Assist with onsite hardware support and recording gear management

  • Project Archival - Consult with audio teams with the archival of projects, ensuring that all work is properly stored and easily accessible for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with audio editing/recording and sound library UCS formatting

  • Familiarity with audio equipment

  • Familiarity with audio library (Soundminer, Soundly) & DAW software (ProTools, Reaper)

  • Demonstrated ability to self-organize, multitask and prioritize

  • Some professional experience with Database management and/or IT is a big plus

  • Familiarity with room acoustics and standard sound facility setups is a plus

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $63,400 - $86,500 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
