Senior Communications Specialist

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Sr. Communications Specialist for a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical client. Team culture is based on open communication, accountability, and collaboration.

Our direct Fortune 500 client is a full service in-house creative agency looking for someone to join the Communications team to drive strategic business goals by developing and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies, including newsletters, webcasts, videos, and SharePoint content.

This is a 12 – month contract + possible extension and possible convert to perm. The team is located in Worcester, MA, and the role is on-site 3 days/week (2 days/week remote). Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.

Sr. Communications Specialist Responsibilities: 

• Partner with leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable communication plans and employee engagement initiatives.
• Create and deliver impactful multimedia content, collaborating with internal and external creative resources.
• Establish and manage new communication channels (e.g., MS Teams, SharePoint) to enhance information flow and employee engagement.
• Lead the execution and tracking of internal communication campaigns, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Design and distribute engaging internal communications, manage content calendars, and maintain internal communication portals.
• Develop compelling employee stories that highlight strategic initiatives and reinforce company values.
• Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all internal communications through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Sr. Communications Specialist Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree  
• Proficient in SharePoint
• Has led content development for communications
• Exhibits exceptional attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 2-5 years of professional communications experience, including project and content management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in SharePoint, Office 365, and Teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach.
• Quick learner with a results-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in AP style, social media platforms, and digital tools.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Basic to intermediate graphic design or video skills (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Basic to intermediate project management skills.
• Familiarity with Canva and media relations.
