This role is integral to Tesla's Supply Chain Operations at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The Supplier Charge Back Operations specialist ensures Tesla receives full reimbursement from suppliers for defective parts. Responsibilities include evaluating processes related to non-conformant materials, ensuring accurate chargeback submissions, controlling chargeback transactions, managing non-conformant inventory, investigating inventory costs, and managing returns. This involves collaboration with cross-functional teams (Global Supply Management, Quality, Production, Supplier Quality, Finance, Production Planning), resolving contested chargebacks, and maintaining accurate records. The role also includes creating downtime chargebacks, developing chargeback strategies, and communicating effectively with suppliers. The position demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication in English (German is a plus).

What to Expect

This position is an integral part of the Supply Chain Operations organization and will be responsible for assure Tesla is fully reimbursed from suppliers for the production parts quality.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams (Global Supply Management, Quality, Production, Supplier Quality, Finance, Production Planning). He/she will be responsible to evaluate all Process regarding the non-conformant material from supplier quality issues and by end of process convert in successful reimbursement for Tesla.

What You’ll Do
  • As Supplier Charge Back Operations (m/f/d), you will ensure Charge Back submission with accurate and validate data (correct Supplier codes, currency, unit price, inventory details, charge back type)
  • You will be responsible for control the final transaction of the non-conformant material from supplier quality issues
  • Control the time of Charge Back execution and status progress
  • Work with the resolution of contested or rejected chargebacks
  • Maintain and control the non-conformant inventory on the designated location
  • Non-conformant Inventory Investigation as well as reduction of inventory costs accordingly with internal KPIs
  • Follow up shipment of goods back to supplier to update inventory successfully
  • Manage all return transactions including monitoring daily process for accuracy in inventory locations
  • Deal with sensitive information accordingly (Always double checked with higher management which information allowed to be shared)
  • Able to report correctly, weekly non-conformant material cumulative cost x charge back submitted
  • Solve problems independently and communicate properly with other colleagues to find solution
  • Maintain and Audit Charge Back program to assure standardized work and processes are followed
  • Create Downtime Charge Back, leading internal and technical discussions with Production, Global Supplier Management, Supply Quality Engineers
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Supplier Industrialization, Design and Suppliers to assure charge back conformity and acceptance
  • Work closely with Supply Chain Managers to develop charge back strategies and with technical development team from USA
  • Develop clear and effective communication with Tesla Suppliers, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment regarding charge back transaction
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
  • 2+ years’ experience in a technology (Automotive Sector) manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced and changing work environment, with busy workloads and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously (Multitasking)
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Able to work both independently and in a collaborative project-focused
  • Proficient knowledge in applying business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
  • Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware, standard software (Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel, Word) and very good excel knowledges (large data analysis)
  • Good communication skills and have attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working in shifts (early, late, night) – flexible time due different time zones meetings
  • English advanced level (written and oral)
  • German is a plus
