Summary

The incumbent supports and innovates animation systems. Working closely with animators, riggers, game designers and programmers, you will work with mocap data, lip sync and facial animation systems, animation and physics rigs, animation trees and dynamic objects. In this role, you'll track, refine or establish pipelines for conventional and innovative features.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical support to the animation team;
  • Maintain the production pipeline of animations, procedures and tools;
  • Support the integration of animations in the game engine;
  • Working with procedural animation systems and other animatable systems;
  • Support the creation of animations and prototype systems in the game engine;
  • Technical validation of animation assets and support for animators in creating nodal systems;
  • Leverage expertise in mocap data, facial animation systems, physics rigs, and dynamic objects to drive high-quality animations;
  • Refine or develop pipelines for both conventional and innovative animation features, ensuring cutting-edge performance;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • AEC in game-oriented 3D animation techniques, equivalent training or relevant experience;
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in animation or any other relevant experience; 
  • Experience with a 3D engine (Unreal, Unity or similar);
  • Experience with advance rigging (hair, facial, complex items);
  • Knowledge of rigging, animation systems, IK and state machines;
  • Understanding of realistic, human anatomy and kinesiology is a must;
  • Keen in one of these areas: optimize creation processes, Animation, Rigging, real-time Solutions;
  • Enthusiasm with Tech Art constraints, pushing for top visual quality and performance;
  • Ability to develop tools or coding knowledge (C#, JavaScript, Python, or Mel Maxscript) is an asset.
