Job Description
This is a 6-month full-time internship at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, focusing on Technical Program Management within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Cell for powertrain launches and engineering changes. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, coordinate production line trials, manage launch activities, provide updates in program reviews, track project milestones, create reports, and perform project walks. The role requires strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be the key point of contact for specific NPI topics within the team.
Must have:
- BS/MS in engineering (Chemical, Electrochem, Materials etc.)
- Cross-functional project facilitation
- Risk management and communication
- Project management experience (helpful)
- Experience with cell/battery design/implementation
Good to have:
- PMP, PMI certificates
- Automotive industry experience
- High-speed automated line experience

Internship assignment:
- Work collaboratively with fast-paced, cross-functional teams to solve complex issues, set goals, track deliverables, and report out.
- Coordinate and execute production line trials and critical validation builds.
- Manage cross-functional production launch activities, support pre-production build and launch activities.
- Provide updates in weekly program and executive reviews for project/program development and implementation status.
- Track project milestones including task duration and resource usage.
- Create reports showing critical path activities and schedules.
- Perform project walks with system owners.
- Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical/Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or other related fields.
- PMP, PMI certificates or experience in project management is helpful.
- Experience working with cell and/or battery design, development and/or implementation of manufacturing projects. Preference in the automotive industry or high-speed automated lines.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate dynamic cross-functional projects with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and test to meet project timelines.
- Proficient at risk management and communication.
- Experience working in time critical and fast-paced product development.
- Strong process and continuous improvement mindset.
