Job Description
This Technical Program Manager role at Google focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals interacting with Google's data center products and designs throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include providing EHS subject matter expertise for new infrastructure, leading risk assessments, collaborating cross-functionally to address EHS risks, monitoring program progress, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality Design for Safety deliverables. The role also involves onboarding and coaching teams on EHS standards and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, environmental health and safety, and mechanical/industrial engineering, with experience in managing cross-functional projects and familiarity with relevant safety standards (ANSI, ISO, NFPA, OSHA, HAZOP, ATEX). This position is based in Brussels, Belgium.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent
- 5+ years program management experience
- 5+ years EHS experience
- Experience in Mechanical, Industrial Design, or Industrial Engineering
- Lead EHS risk assessments
- Cross-functional collaboration
Good to have:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Process Safety, Occupational Health, or Industrial Hygiene
- Experience managing cross-functional projects
- Experience with European Directives and EMEA infrastructure
- Knowledge of Data Center Operations, Facilities Management, Engineering and Construction
- Knowledge of ANSI, ISO, NFPA, OSHA, HAZOP, ATEX

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the innovative data center products and designs prioritize and ensure the well-being and safety of the individuals interacting with the products throughout the entire life-cycle of the technical infrastructure - from design, construction, operation, and eventual dismantling.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities
- Provide design and industrial safety subject matter knowledge for new infrastructure products and data center building designs.
- Lead and perform detailed design EHS risk assessment process for new infrastructure products and data center building designs, taking into consideration the entire life-cycle of technical infrastructure.
- Lead cross-functional collaborative efforts to address identified EHS risks at both the site, regional, and global program levels, engage a cross-functional stakeholder group to ensure integration and compliance with EHS regulatory standards and EHS Owner Program requirements.
- Monitor and communicate program progress and ensure high quality Design for Safety deliverables are provided on time and approved by the cross-functional teams.
- Onboard, coach, and follow up with cross-functional teams on EHS Design for Safety Technical Standards and processes.
