The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for maximizing sales revenue of established accounts and targeting new business opportunities with OEMs, distributor partners, and system integrators. This involves developing key personal relationships, giving technical sales presentations, and understanding customer needs. The role also includes partnering with internal teams in the bid and proposal process, developing new solutions, and utilizing a strong technical understanding of products. The representative will need to anticipate market trends and create sales tools to achieve sales targets. This position requires strong communication and presentation skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Engineering degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant sales experience
  • Strong technical aptitude including understanding mechanical systems.
  • Excellent presentation skills for technical product information.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge or experience with compressed air treatment and filtration technologies.

We have an opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative to join our OEM/Engineered Filtration sales team in Conroe, TX, primarily selling market-leading pneumatic and hydraulic compressed air treatment as well as fluid process filtration technologies to industrial accounts. You will identify, develop, and grow key accounts, as well as identify new accounts, by understanding client requirements, designing solutions, and articulating the value of Pentair’s products, solutions, and technologies.

** The office for this business is in Conroe, TX. While a good portion of the time will be spent meeting customers in-person across North America, we prioritize collaboration between sales, engineering, and manufacturing. On weeks you are not travelling, you will work from our Conroe, TX office 2-3 days / week to strategize, collaborate and learn from the team. ** #LI-Hybrid

You will:

  • Maximize sales revenue of established accounts, as well as target new business opportunities with OEMs, distributor partners, and system integrators with industrial compressed air or industrial filtration applications through the development of key personal relationships and technical sales presentations/demonstrations.
  • Partner with internal teams in the bid & proposal process and clearly understand all customer needs and expectations. This may include negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Work with end-users and internal teams to bring ideas and innovation together to develop new solutions, grow market share and penetrate new markets.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address new and existing customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference.
  • Anticipate and plan for changing trends in the market and develop the sales tools & account plans to achieve the sales targets & goals. 

Key Qualifications: 

  • Have earned a Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree. Engineering degree preferred.
  • Have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a strong sales aptitude, including ability to understand customer needs and requirements, identify solutions, build long-term dynamic relationships, and driven to find new markets, channels, and/or accounts.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability to understand and interpret mechanical systems (processing, filtration, etc).
  • Knowledge of or experience with compressed air treatment, porous / hollow fiber filtration, membrane filtration, pneumatic, hydraulic, or similar industrial filtration technologies a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting technical product information and/or training.
  • Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Travel:

  • 30-50% overnight travel across North America to meet with existing accounts as well as new business development activities, including customer visits and tradeshows.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated total target cash (TTC) range will be from $92200 - $171100 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as sales incentive bonus.
