Position at Creative Assembly
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Localisation Coordinator to join the Localisation team on our Total War franchise.
The right candidate will be working mainly with our SEGA UK based team of Localisation Project Managers, Localisation QA Managers, and other localisation specialists as well as our internal CA team of Development Managers, Writers and Designers to deliver this content and contribute to the stellar localisation experience for Total War titles developed at the studio.
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside our experienced Localisation/Development Managers and teams as well as our Localisation team at SEGA, you will be responsible for coordinating the localisation of all assigned projects to ensure every project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest level of accuracy and quality standards.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Plan out a timeline for localisation based on the project key dates and localisation content and communicate this schedule out to all relevant stakeholders.
- Set up and lead localisation kick off meetings for text and audio, regular project catch-up meetings for project updates, postmortem meetings and any other relevant meetings to discuss the project and drive the project forward as well as to address any problems and issues.
- Gather and supply any necessary information when budgets are created (i.e. word counts, voice over requirements).
- Track text and translation progress, inform relevant stakeholders of any delays and collaborate with them to find solutions if the schedule is affected.
- Export text files from the database, send it to SEGA for translation and import the translations back into the game upon receipt whilst managing any translator queries.
- Supply regular working builds and keys to SEGA for translators and localisation testers.
- Liaise with designers on the project team regarding the subtitles, implement them into the game and add localised versions.
- Implement text bug fixes, update builds for regression testing, address localisation bugs by fixing text files or escalating them to developers.
- Identify any issues affecting quality and proactively improve processes to enhance the game’s quality at release.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Very good written and spoken English
- Experience within a Quality Assurance or Localisation role
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and software
- Understanding of contemporary workflows and processes
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Excellent organisational, communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Able to work as a team player and under own initiative
- A keen interest in and a passion for localisation in video games
Desirable
- Experience working on shipped AAA titles
- JIRA experience and Confluence
- Knowledge and familiarity of Total War brand
- Any general experience within a similar role in localisation
