Job Description

As an Associate Technical Solutions Engineer, Data Analytics, you'll play a crucial role in supporting Google Cloud customers by troubleshooting technical issues, providing consulting expertise, and advocating for their needs. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure the successful deployment and adoption of Google Cloud's data analytics solutions, including BigQuery. Responsibilities include: - Developing a deep understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics platform and underlying architectures. - Troubleshooting customer issues, reproducing problems, and determining root causes. - Building tools and implementing faster diagnosis techniques. - Serving as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, including engineering, sales, and customer organizations. - Working as part of a global team to ensure 24-hour customer support, potentially requiring non-standard work hours or shifts, including weekends. - Understanding customer issues, advocating for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Engineering teams, and driving high-quality production. - Working with customers on their production databases to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience reading/debugging code in Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, JavaScript
2+ years of experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or product operations management

Good to have:

Experience in technical consulting on database design and architecture supporting large enterprise customers with high Service Level Objective (SLO) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements
Experience in data analytics, warehousing, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) development, data science, or other Big Data applications
Experience working in distributed applications or micro-services in a cloud based environment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with SQL database administration, open source software communities, Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing
Experience working in a dynamic organization with cross-collaboration across functions

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience reading or debugging code in one or more of the following: Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, JavaScript.
2 years of experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or product operations management.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in technical consulting on database design and architecture supporting large enterprise customers with high Service Level Objective (SLO) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
Experience in data analytics, warehousing, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) development, data science, or other Big Data applications.
Experience working in distributed applications or micro-services in a cloud based environment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics (e.g., BigQuery) and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and faster diagnosis.
Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours/shifts, and may include weekend work.
Understand customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Engineering teams and drive high-quality production.
Work with customers on their production databases to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.
