As an Associate Technical Solutions Engineer, Data Analytics, you'll play a crucial role in supporting Google Cloud customers by troubleshooting technical issues, providing consulting expertise, and advocating for their needs. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure the successful deployment and adoption of Google Cloud's data analytics solutions, including BigQuery. Responsibilities include: - Developing a deep understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics platform and underlying architectures. - Troubleshooting customer issues, reproducing problems, and determining root causes. - Building tools and implementing faster diagnosis techniques. - Serving as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, including engineering, sales, and customer organizations. - Working as part of a global team to ensure 24-hour customer support, potentially requiring non-standard work hours or shifts, including weekends. - Understanding customer issues, advocating for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Engineering teams, and driving high-quality production. - Working with customers on their production databases to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience reading/debugging code in Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, JavaScript
  • 2+ years of experience in technical support, professional services, software development, or product operations management
Good to have:
  • Experience in technical consulting on database design and architecture supporting large enterprise customers with high Service Level Objective (SLO) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements
  • Experience in data analytics, warehousing, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) development, data science, or other Big Data applications
  • Experience working in distributed applications or micro-services in a cloud based environment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with SQL database administration, open source software communities, Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing
  • Experience working in a dynamic organization with cross-collaboration across functions

Minimum qualifications:

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics (e.g., BigQuery) and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and faster diagnosis.
  • Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
  • Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours/shifts, and may include weekend work.
  • Understand customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Engineering teams and drive high-quality production.
  • Work with customers on their production databases to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.
