Open to Canadian Freelaners/Contractors. Evaluations will be based upon shortlisted candidates through interviews, demonstrated skill and experience and bid proposals. Must be available Eastern Standard Time.

Who You Are

You are a highly skilled (Contract) Web Application Developer with expertise in the end-to-end Web App Development bidding process. You excel at analyzing client requirements and providing accurate project estimations for time and budget. You have a solid foundation in requirements gathering, feature prioritization, wireframing, and technical documentation, delivering a comprehensive prototype proposal that includes both front-end and back-end architecture, project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Ideally, you have experience in the VFX industry with Python BE development experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications.
• Create detailed project proposals, timelines, deliverables, and budgets aligned with the App and studio requirements.
• Understand and adhere to guidelines and requirements on the staged development process.
• Communicate and maintain system progress and escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
• Optimize performance through troubleshooting, QA, and bug fixing to deliver high-quality results.
• Write and implement unit testing for all code to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Provide implementation and post implementation support.
• Meet targets and proactively provide updates on milestone achievements to stakeholders.
• Apply secure coding practices to protect data privacy and maintain system reliability.
• Collaborate regularly with the Head of Pipeline to report on the status of projects and resolve challenges. 
• Foster and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with the internal team.
• Stay informed by researching and adopting the latest technological advancements and work methodologies.
• Adapt flexibility to accommodate change requests while maintaining project momentum. 

What You Bring

• 3+ years experience in web application development.
• Demonstrated experience with multiple web app development examples: MUST Show a portfolio, able to provide references regarding past work experience.
• Strong UI experience: understanding of informational hierarchy and intuitive visual design.
• Web Development Knowledge: Required HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API design best practices.
• Demonstrated Quality Assurance experience: Show past QA plans to deliver clean code.
• Experience with Reflex, REACT, or comparable web frameworks for rapid front-end development.
• Skilled in developing and consuming APIs, with a focus on RESTful architecture.
• Preferred Python for BE development.
• Preferred knowledge of Shotgun/Shotgrid/Flow
• AWS knowledge experience a plus
• Flexible and adaptable to code reviews and feedback.
