Communications Content Specialist

We’re looking to hire a Communications Content Specialist for a Fortune 500 global pharmaceutical client. Teams are very collaborative and have a passion for creating cutting edge customer experiences.

Our direct Fortune 500 client is looking for someone to join the Content team to drive content creation and distribution, ensuring unified messaging and producing compelling written content aligned with the overall communications strategy.

This is a 6 – month contract + possible extension. The team is located in Mettawa, Illinois, and the role is on-site 3 days/week and remote 2 days/week. Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.

**No strategy involved for this role; this is 100% execution (i.e. writing)

Communications Content Specialist Responsibilities:

• Executes content calendar tactics for consistent, timely publication across platforms.
• Crafts engaging and persuasive copy for internal communications.
• Maintains consistent brand voice and messaging across all projects.
• Manages and updates email distribution lists for various audiences.
• Edits and proofreads content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Conducts fact-checking and quality control to ensure high content standards.

Communications Content Specialist Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in copywriting, content creation, or journalism.
• Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing skills and content formats.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Collaborative team player with strong cross-departmental communication skills.
• Expertise in communications with proven ability to adapt writing style to diverse brand voices.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong fact-checking skills.
• Highly resourceful and proactive, thriving in environments with limited information.
• Effective time management and deadline adherence.
