Job Summary:

Good Morning America has an opening for a Coordinating Producer focusing on entertainment on the nation’s #1 morning show. We are looking for a key player for our dedicated team, who will work closely with the Chief Editorial Producer, Executive Producer and Executive Broadcast Producer on show decisions to produce innovative first-rate content, collaborating on rundown and coverage decisions, and also working independently to steer the show in critical late day hours.

What You Will Do:

You will conceive of, launch and lead all aspects of entertainment news segments, collaborating with and mentoring a team of producers, writers and more.

Our Coordinating Producer must have excellent entertainment and news judgment, advanced scripting and editing skills, a forward-thinking mindset, and work well on a team.

Candidates will excel at show and segment producing – fielding breaking news, pitching story ideas, crafting distinctive coverage, scripting, and management of production teams in the field and post-production. Candidates will thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure news environment and have strong experience in conceiving and executing segments.  Mentoring less experienced staff is important.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of high level producing for a live show in a large market, cable or network
  • Strong script editing, reporting and storytelling skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • The ability to independently lead and motivate a team
  • Experience in making editorial judgments as well as an overall understanding of breaking news

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Control room experience is a plus.
  • Previous management of teams is desirable

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Additional Information:

This position requires a Sunday-Thursday workweek and will, at times, require additional flexible hours, including training for and backfilling key control room positions.
