Your mission:A career in our Valuation and Modeling practice, within our Deals Corporate Finance Services team, will provide you the opportunity to support clients in understanding and quantifying the value of businesses and the implications of investment choices on value throughout the lifecycle of a business.
We provide comprehensive valuations for portfolios, businesses, intangibles, shares, and financial instruments. Our services support regulatory requirements, facilitate decision-making, assist in transactions, and ensure compliance with legislation. By blending technical expertise and strategic insights, we advise leading alternative investment managers, institutional investors, large corporations, family offices, not-for-profit organizations, and private clients, consistently delivering exceptional results.
Our in-house experience enables us to assertively interact with the several stakeholders involved in the valuation process, including investment teams, internal risk and valuation specialist, external auditors, and other valuation professionals, as to adequately consider the elements of value creation and risk within our assessments.
Our Valuation and Modelling practice comprises a team of talented professionals from across the globe coming from diverse horizons including leading asset managers, corporate development teams, world largest consulting and audit firms and dedicated valuation boutiques. They all share the same passion for delivering superior financial advisory to clients while producing insightful deliverables to answer client’s valuation and modeling needs.
Be a part of our team where you will:
Carry out various assignments for valuation and modelling advisory across different industries and situations, including portfolio valuations, business valuations, intangible valuations, complex securities valuation, and ad hoc modelling engagements;
Prepare detailed financial modelling, business plans, financial analysis and the application of a variety of valuation methodologies;
Assess reasonableness of valuations and financial models prepared by others;
Assist clients with their understanding of complex financial structures;
Apply generally accepted valuation principles, methodologies, and techniques in support of IPEV, IFRS, US GAAP and Lux GAAP;
Perform valuation analysis of financial instruments and structured products;
Create independent financial models utilizing income or market approaches to estimate or assess the value of a business and the securities within its capital structure;
Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations;
Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations;
Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making;
Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients;
Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties;
Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points;
Produce outstanding deliverables for our clients;
Develop new skills outside of your comfort zone.
Let's talk about you. If you have/are...
Master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting or similar;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a perfect command of English and French (German and Spanish are deemed as a strong asset, any other European language will be considered as valuable);
Professional experience ideally of more than five years with a relevant exposure to Valuation and Modeling, preferably in the valuation/modelling advisory team of a Big Four firm, professional services firm (e.g., Mazars, BDO, Grant Thornton) and/or valuation specialist advisor (e.g., BHB Partners, Stout, VRC, Houlihan Lokey, Alvarez & Marsal, Accuracy, Eight Advisory);
Experienced in leading projects from start to finish and managing young professionals;
Experienced in coaching junior professionals;
Candidates with a solid audit background in alternatives investments and/or in-house AIFM valuation function experience, would also be considered if they are proficient in English, German and French;
Preferably and exposure to private capital alternative investments (e.g., private equity, infrastructure, venture capital, private debt);
Strong financial modelling skills in Microsoft Excel (i.e., being capable of building three-way models and respecting modelling best practices, such as never hard-coding numbers in a formula, nor using formulae such as VLOOKUP, INDIRECT or nested IFs);
Solid knowledge of financial statement analysis under IFRS, US GAAP and/or Lux GAAP;
Knowledge and experience working with option pricing models (Black & Scholes, Binomial trees, Montecarlo) and/or Purchase Price Allocations are deemed as valuable;
Ability to create high quality deliverables in MS Power Point;
Achieved progress towards obtaining professional finance or accounting qualification (e.g., CFA, CAIA, FRM, CVA, ASA, CBV, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CA, AFM, CFM, FMVA) is a plus;
Highly organized, flexible, and able to manage several timelines;
Meticulous and thorough attention to details;
Healthy level of professional skepticism;
Proactive, eager to learn and grow;
A good sense of humor is highly valued yet not a strict requirement for this role.
