We are now hiring a Junior VAT Specialist (f/m/d)– Luxembourg

eBay Indirect Tax offers an opportunity to join our dynamic EMEA Team, in a new role based in Luxembourg.  As a global leader in e-commerce, eBay are passionate about connecting buyers and sellers and fostering opportunities through technology and commerce, and the Indirect Tax team plays a key role in helping our business to achieve that aim.

We are currently seeking a Junior VAT Specialist based in Luxembourg to support our growing needs in the EMEA region. This role will be instrumental in supporting with Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance, handling a number of VAT responsibilities and participating in a variety of indirect tax projects.

About the Team:

Our EMEA Indirect Tax team is responsible for leading all aspects of VAT matters for eBay's operations across major markets in Europe, middle East and Africa. We are committed to maintaining eBay’s tax compliance and supporting the business with new initiatives and the implementation of new tax obligations.

What you will accomplish:

  • Support and manage indirect tax compliance across various jurisdictions.

  • Assist with VAT registrations and implement standard methodologies for new tax filings.

  • Engage with tax authorities and external advisors during audits.

  • Take ownership of data relevant to eBay’s indirect tax compliance.

  • Contribute to the automation of indirect tax processes and support e-invoicing projects.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, other tax functions, and external partners.

  • Assist with SAP processes related to indirect taxes.

  • Develop training materials for business functions and support the establishment of tax policies and system workflows.

What you will bring:

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Ability to analyze and understand large volumes of data without being overwhelmed.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and eagerness to learn new systems like Alteryx, Tellius, Power BI, and AI in Indirect Tax.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.

  • Independent work ethic, balanced with a collaborative team spirit.

  • Excellent communication skills and a curiosity for technology and process improvement.

  • Interest in the evolving global indirect tax landscape, with proficiency in English; knowledge of German or French is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in indirect tax and/or technology.
