Director of Engineering

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Vice President of Engineering to lead and inspire our engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in engineering leadership, strong people management capabilities, and the ability to contribute strategically to our company's growth and success. This role requires a leader who can command respect from the engineering teams from day one, effectively communicate with the board, and align the engineering function with the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members to help them grow and succeed.
• Cultivate a positive and productive work environment that supports professional development and high performance.
• Strategic Contribution:
• Work closely with the executive team and board of directors to develop and execute the company’s engineering strategy.
• Provide strategic input on company-wide initiatives and ensure that engineering objectives align with the overall business goals.
• Stay informed on industry trends and advancements, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Act as a key liaison between the engineering department and the board, providing regular updates on engineering projects, challenges, and successes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts with other business functions.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
• Technical Oversight:
• Ensure that engineering projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Oversee the development and implementation of engineering processes, tools, and standards to enhance efficiency and quality.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing large engineering teams.
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to align AI and engineering initiatives with business goals and contribute to overall company strategy.
• Strong people management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with the board and other senior leaders.
