Job Description

Tesla's Drive Systems team in Athens, Greece seeks an Electrical Engineer specializing in motor insulation systems. Responsibilities include leading the design, development, and optimization of motor insulation systems, ensuring they meet high performance and reliability standards. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers for troubleshooting and failure analysis, working with manufacturing teams on quality assurance and production guidelines, and leveraging data analysis (SQL, Python) to drive innovation and informed decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in insulation materials, electrical testing for electric motors, and statistical techniques. Automotive motor design experience and strong communication skills are highly valued.

In this pivotal role you will take charge of insulation sizing, specifications, qualification, and data analysis all while collaborating with a global, multidisciplinary team. Your role will directly contribute to advancing cutting edge powertrain systems, driving innovation, performance, and reliability.

What You’ll Do

Lead design, development and optimization: harness your expertise to design and optimize motor insulation systems, ensuring they meet the highest performance and reliability standards for our electric motors.
Work closely with suppliers to troubleshoot challenges and conduct in-depth failure mode analysis throughout the development process.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams on quality assurance and development of production guidelines, tests, and standards.
Leverage data to drive innovation: use advanced analytics tools like SQL and Python to extract, analyze and interpret datasets, uncovering critical insights that fuel informed decisions.
Build bridges across disciplines: partner with global cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts delivering data driven solutions.

What You’ll Bring

Background in Electrical Engineering.
Expertise in insulation materials and electrical tests for electric motors.
Understanding of various statistical techniques to effectively summarize data findings.
A passion and curiosity for data and data-driven decision making.
Automotive motor design expertise is considered a plus.
Knowledge of SQL and strong proficiency in Python is considered a plus.
Fluency in English.
Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss any issues with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
