Job Summary

Reporting to the Vertical Director, the Game Design Manager brings general studio and industry knowledge to the vertical leadership team. They are responsible for managing the game designers of their assigned vertical. They help ensure that each team member has the proper bandwidth to support assigned projects, while also providing individualized career development and encouragement.
Additionally, the Game Design Manager is considered the central point of contact for the game design team, ensuring that information is being delivered to the game design team from the vertical leadership meetings, studio-wide initiatives, and Asmodee direction, while also delivering individual or team concerns back to those meetings or leadership teams.

What will your role involve

  • Track the progress of all game design related vertical projects.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks of vertical game designers.
  • Reallocate assignments and responsibilities of vertical game design team as needed.
  • Provide motivational support, coaching, and encouragement to vertical game designers.
  • Innovate processes and training to streamline the vertical and support the team.
  • Playtest and review department products with staff to ensure milestones are met and quality is upheld.
  • Ensure internal and external department product playtesting procedures are efficient and effective.
  • Communicate needs and maintain strong working relationships with other teams, both within and beyond the vertical. (Organized Play, Marketing, Licensing, Art, Graphic Design, Production, etc.)
  • Maintain good working relationships with various licensors, partners, and freelancers.
  • All other assignments as required by management.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills – must be able manage multiple projects and milestones.
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and writing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven, high-energy environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong social skills used to yield results, build relationships with Asmodee partners, and foster a creative environment.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three to five years in a leadership/management capacity.
