Summary

As Head of Technology at Sporty Group, you will collaborate with the CTO and executive leadership to define our technology vision and strategy. You'll drive technical due diligence, set coding standards, oversee platform architecture and implementation, and mentor a talented engineering team. Responsibilities include aligning technology development with market demands, making strategic decisions around product roadmaps and partnerships, implementing robust software development practices, scaling our infrastructure, and leveraging expertise in complex mathematical models for real-world sports challenges. You'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, while upholding security and reliability of our systems. Sporty Group serves millions of users across multiple countries and continents, utilizing a cutting-edge tech stack including Java, Javascript, Spring Boot, Vue.js, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the CTO and executive leadership team to define our technology vision and strategy.
Drive the technical due diligence process to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities.
Set the standard for code quality and efficiency. Writes highly efficient and optimized code, setting examples for others.
Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of our platform, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term goals.
Guide and mentor a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive our competitive edge.
Partner with product management to align technology development with market demands and business objectives.
Contribute to strategic decisions around product roadmap, partnerships, and market positioning.
Implement robust software development practices, data management strategies, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
Scale our technology infrastructure to support rapid growth and a growing customer base.
Leverage your expertise in deploying complex mathematical models, simulations, and algorithms to address real-world challenges in the sports industry.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards.
Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the technical systems and infrastructure.
Establish and implement information security management strategies to protect the organization's systems and data.

Requirements:

Proven track record in senior technical leadership roles (e.g., VP of Engineering, Head of tech) ideally within a startup environment.
Deep understanding of cloud-based SaaS architecture and its application in scaling high-performance platforms.
Hands-on experience with programming languages, and proficiency in modern technologies.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or related fields.
A passion for technology and innovation, with a drive to solve complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to manage and collaborate within a remote, diverse team.
