Job Description

The IT Solution Architect will support the Siemens IT Mendix DevOps Center with solution design and architecture for Mendix applications. They will drive and manage IT implementation projects, ensuring the application of Siemens standards. Responsibilities include specifying functional and non-functional requirements, deriving architectural solutions, leading development teams, analyzing risks, and managing technical debt. The role also involves acting as a technical expert for IT partners and integrating low-code service offerings into the Siemens landscape. This position requires expertise in Mendix solutions, knowledge of IT compliance, and experience with agile methodologies. The architect will work with international teams and manage stakeholders.
Must have:
  • 8 years of experience in designing Mendix solutions
  • Expert knowledge in the LowCode platform Mendix
  • Detailed know-how of Mendix developer guidelines
  • Know-how of Siemens regulatory requirements
  • Proficient experience in architecting continuous delivery systems
  • Knowledge about Cloud platforms/solutions
  • Ability to work on complex issues autonomously and team based
  • Strong problem solver with strong analytical skills

You’ll break new ground by:

  • Support Siemens IT Mendix DevOps Center with solution design and architecture for Mendix applications.
  • Drive and manage IT implementation projects independently and/or as lead of a project team, with the aim of enabling the Digital Transformation of Siemens and automating processes, based on Mendix.
  • Ensure that Siemens standard processes and guidelines for the execution of Mendix projects are applied and followed and manage and enable system integrators to work based on the applicable guidelines.
  • Act as expert Solution Consultant to specify functional and non-functional Mendix application requirements, derive architectural solutions based on Siemens Enterprise Architecture guidelines and align these with the international agile development team.
  • Lead and guide development teams in complex implementation challenges around security, integration, data modelling, app performance, deployment strategies and more, based on Siemens requirements.
  • Analyze risks, develop architecture roadmaps and manage technical debt.
  • Act as technical key expert for IT partners and Software providers with regards to future development of low code service offerings and the integration into the Siemens landscape.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

  • Demonstrated 8 years of experience in designing & implementing Mendix solutions, out of which at least 5 years with increasing responsibility.
  • Expert knowledge in the LowCode platform Mendix with Mx Expert Certification is a must.
  • Detailed know-how of Mendix developer guidelines, standard processes and available templates & common components.
  • Know-how of (Siemens) regulatory requirements in IT compliance, e.g. Information Security, Data privacy, etc.
  • Proficient & hands-on experience in architecting, designing and managing continuous delivery systems using Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge about Cloud platforms/solutions (e.g. AWS).
  • Ability to work on complex issues autonomously as well as team based.
  • Strong problem solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management of internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Experienced working with and in international teams.
