Your Job
We are looking for a Junior UI Artist with experience in Mobile Games to join the Farmerama Team. The responsibilities include creating user-centric game interface and experience, managing multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.
We need a detail-oriented, flexible, good team player. Primarily our ideal UI Artist is creative and artistic with a strong working knowledge of UI and UX across casual and cartoony mobile games. Secondarily, the candidate has a passion for the Unity technical pipeline as a support skill.
Responsibilities
- Creating appealing UI across for Farmerama Live Ops, working directly with the Art Lead and the other UI Artists.
- Applying and maintaining a consistent art style throughout the entire project interface.
- Improving on old designs while keeping the project’s identity consistent.
- Creating mockups demonstrating UI/UX flow.
- Collaborate with the the other UI Artists, Game Designers, Narrative and Developers in the implementation of UI components and the desired flow of the game UX.
- Iterating using feedback from multiple departments to drive and polish features to a high-quality state.
- Ideally can animate button presses, screen transitions and UI FX.
- Integrating assets in the games without sacrificing the artistic vision or exceeding technical limits of the target devices.
- Learning game engine capabilities and limitations, enthusiastic to ‘find a way’ to meet challenging artistic visions.
- Attending meetings to discuss ongoing and upcoming tasks, as well as brainstormings and kickoffs.
- Maintaining and improving UI production/workflow/pipeline documentation pertaining to each project.
Requirements
- Certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
- Strong portfolio of UI visuals with a lean toward the casual and cartoon aesthetic.
- Exceptional graphic design skills across iconography, layout, typography, and colour theory with a portfolio that demonstrates this.
- Ability to render visuals to a high quality combined with a strong understanding of UI and UX principles.
- Awareness of current trends in user interface design across the games industry.
- Great communication skills both written and verbal - the need to keep people in the loop is essential.
- Deep familiarity with industry art pipelines - understanding common problems and solutions for UI asset creation and flow in mobile games.
- Proficiency in entire Adobe Suite.
- Experience in creating UX Flows in Figma
- Experience with Unity game asset pipeline.
- Understanding of mobile device limitations and challenges.
- Keen ability to create appealing, mobile friendly UI.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to take feedback and apply it. 
- Organized and timely.
- Strong passion for gaming.
- 3+ years professional games industry experience.

Major Plus:
- Knowledge of casual farm games.
- Practical knowledge of illustration skills and concept art.
- Ability to produce particles, shaders and other VFX in the UI space.
