People Manager - Project Fantasy

IO Interactive is seeking a skilled and dedicated People Manager to join our team and support Project Fantasy, an ambitious new IP set to revolutionize the online fantasy RPG genre. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the career development of our talented designers, developers, and artists across the project.

Working closely with Project Fantasy leadership, you will ensure that team members have the tools and support they need to grow and succeed. This role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to align people management strategies with the project’s creative and technical goals. Your primary clients will be designers, developers, and artists.

The role contributes to building a competitive and sustainable organization, strengthening the company culture and staff engagement, supporting change/transformation in the business, performance management, and contributing to the People Manager Team efficiency and evolution.

What you will do:

Strategic Influence & Leadership:

  • Play a key role in building an organization that supports IOI’s growth plans and becomes an industry example of how to care for its people.
  • Be a key contributor to people-related decisions and processes, ensuring alignment with IOI’s overall people strategy.

Employee Development & Support:

  • Serve as the go-to person for designers, developers, and artists on Project Fantasy, assisting them with personnel development.
  • Guide the career growth of the team, including project transitions, promotions, skill development, and action planning.
  • Stay closely connected with employees to identify their strengths, development opportunities, and challenges, helping them reach their full potential.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Participate in recruitment by helping to define role profiles, assessing candidates for skills and cultural fit, and contributing to onboarding processes.
  • Take part in interviews to ensure a good match for skills and team culture and assist in the smooth onboarding of new team members.

HR Processes & Performance Management:

  • Ensure the proper implementation of HR processes, including feedback cycles, salary and appraisal talks, and career development plans.
  • Collaborate with HR on refining and improving existing processes to better serve the needs of the team.
  • Oversee the performance management cycle, providing guidance on cross-functional development and employee feedback.

Staffing & Organizational Management:

  • Help manage career paths, defining individual action plans for transitions and promotions.
  • Assist in salary management and the evaluation, classification, and calibration of different seniority levels and roles.
  • Address staffing challenges, including resolving disputes, disciplinary actions, and performance issues.

Who you are:

  • Experienced: You have at least 2-4 years of experience in people management, organizational development, or HR leadership, ideally in the gaming, tech, or creative industries.
  • HR Knowledgeable: You are well-versed in recruitment, onboarding, feedback systems, salary reviews, and employee relations, with the ability to guide these processes effectively.
  • Collaborative & Strategic: You’ve worked closely with leadership teams to drive strategic people initiatives, aligning people management with business goals.
  • Strong Communicator: You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solver: You are skilled in conflict resolution and handling complex employee relations, providing solutions that support both the team and the company.
  • Coaching & Mediation: Ideally, you have training in coaching, mediation, or conflict resolution, enhancing your ability to manage challenging situations.
  • Fluent in English: You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, enabling clear and effective communication across the organization.

About The Company

IO Interactive is a 25-year old, AAA independent game studio, creators of HITMAN, Kane & Lynch, Mini Ninjas and Freedom Fighters. We are currently working on Project 007, Project Fantasy, and continue to develop Glacier, our award-winning game engine.


We are a diverse team of designers, producers, artists, programmers and operations supporters from 40+ different nationalities, working on cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art game design.


The creative teams involved in producing our games are supported by our tech department, which delivers our own Glacier engine, and the incubation department, which helps the team to prototype new and exciting features, game mechanics, or even brand new IPs.

IO Interactive was established in September 1998. The IO Interactive technology team consists of programmers, software engineers and mathematicians with considerable experience in game programming and 3D graphics. Graphic designers, artists and animators are recruited from the game and entertainment industry, as well as the best art schools from all over the world.
