Mandiant seeks a Principal Threat Analyst for its Advanced Intelligence Access (AIA) program. This role involves evaluating advanced threats, analyzing attacker TTPs and trends, and correlating intelligence to understand threat activity. Responsibilities include strategic and tactical research, presenting findings to diverse audiences (executives, security teams, analysts), and working with clients to define intelligence needs. The position requires onsite client-facing work (1-3 days/week) in Chantilly, Tysons, and McLean, VA, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity, threat intelligence, and forensic analysis. The analyst will act as a conduit to Mandiant's network of professionals, delivering actionable intelligence to clients to inform decision-making and action.
Must have:
- 10+ years customer-facing cyber security analysis experience
- Experience presenting to technical and executive stakeholders
- Project management experience
- Active US Government TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Evaluate tools and best practices for tracking advanced threats
Good to have:
- Experience evaluating forensic reports
- Experience with CTI methodologies
- Experience deploying and analyzing data from security controls

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in a customer-facing analytical role in cyber security (e.g. Network Forensics Analyst, Threat Intelligence Analyst).
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Experience with project management.
- Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Poly.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10 years of experience evaluating forensic reports of electronic media, packet capture, log data, malware triage, or enterprise-level information security operations.
- Experience with CTI methodologies and application within cyber security organizations.
- Experience in the analysis of CTI, supporting monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
- Experience in deploying and analyzing data from technical security controls (e.g. web proxy, firewalls, IPS, IDS, enterprise antivirus solutions, network analyzers).
- Experience with standard network logging formats, network management systems and network security monitoring systems, and security information and event management.

This role supports Mandiant’s Advanced Intelligence Access (AIA) program. The AIA program enables customers, via an onsite Cyber Analyst, access to the totality of Mandiant’s Threat Intelligence, including raw data. Each Cyber Analyst ensures the delivery of actionable intelligence to each customer’s security or operational environments in order to drive decision making and action. The Cyber Analyst also acts as a conduit to Mandiant’s extensive network of cyber security, threat intelligence, and information operations professionals. This is an onsite, client-facing position.
This position requires onsite client-facing work 1-3 days a week in Chantilly, Tysons, and Mclean based on coverage needs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Evaluate tools and best practices for tracking advanced threats, Tools, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) of attacker’s motivations, and industry and attacker trends.
- Perform strategic, tactical, and operational research and analysis of adversarial cyber threats.
- Correlate intelligence to develop deeper understandings of tracked threat activity.
- Present tactical and strategic intelligence about threat groups, the methodologies they use, and the motivations behind their activity and convey the importance of findings to a variety of audiences.
- Work with customers to determine their intelligence needs and requirements and prepare and deliver briefings and reports to the customers' executives, security team, and fellow analysts.
