Job Description

As a Product Manager II at YouTube Search and Discovery, you'll guide products from conception to launch, bridging technical and business aspects. You'll break down complex problems to drive development, collaborating with engineering, marketing, legal, UX, and other teams. Responsibilities include understanding markets, competition, and user requirements; launching and iterating on new products and features; developing solutions across regions and functions; and finding ways to engage returning contributors. You'll work to improve YouTube's search and discovery experience, ensuring millions of users can easily find the videos they're looking for.
Must have:
  • 5+ years product management experience
  • 5+ years consumer product management
  • Experience launching technical products
  • User-facing software development experience
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience in consumer product management.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience developing user facing software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a technology or business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in technology and public policy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand markets, competition, and user requirements.
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, legal, UX, and other teams on technologies.
  • Develop solutions to problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.
  • Determine how the team can engage returning contributors and help them find videos that would benefit from their engagement.
