About the Role 
Reporting to the Director, Production Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will bring technical know-how and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning and providing day to day finance support to key stakeholders overseeing live-action production.

Job Description

  • Work with large datasets that are not consistent, clean, or fully modelled ensuring data is obtained consistently, timely and accurately
  • Build, implement, and improve data models and dashboards for key stakeholders
  • Support the annual budget process through the development and maintenance of multi-year financial models in MS Excel (investment, revenue (advertising/subscriber/distribution), sales commissions, government compliance trackers)
  • Maintain revenue models and prepare and analyse weekly reports (sales, content, subscribers)
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the company
  • Prepare financial projections and variance analysis of departmental income statements
  • Assist in preparation of briefing notes and reports for presentation to senior management
  • Support quarterly review and year-end audit activities of external auditors
  • Maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
  • Support with all CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission) inquiries and related reporting
  • Ad hoc projects for the Production Finance department as directed

Qualifications

  • Experience in an analytical role, or other relevant experience with forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning
  • Minimum post-secondary degree (with focus in Business, Finance, Economics, or diploma from an accredited business program preferred)
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate, is considered an asset
  • Proficient with financial modeling techniques and strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify data patterns
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Proficiency/advanced skills with Excel are essential. Exposure to Microsoft VBA, Macros, Power Query and Power BI considered an asset
  • Broadcast industry experience and/or professional designation(s) considered an asset
  • Proficient with accounting software – Great Plains experience considered an asset
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
