Job Description

WildBrain Studios is looking for Senior Pipeline Developers to join their team. This position is part of the Pipeline team, responsible for developing and advancing software, tools, and processes. Responsibilities include designing and developing tools, workflows, and processes, testing and releasing code, identifying and resolving bugs, creating documentation, collaborating with stakeholders, and researching emerging technologies. The role requires the candidate to be located within British Columbia and is a permanent role.
Must have:
  • BS+ in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience developing and delivering software
  • Experience with Python, C++, or other OOP language
  • Experience with Git or other revision control system
  • Experience with databases
  • Experience with Windows and Linux
Good to have:
  • Experience developing for Animation or other creative industries
  • Knowledge of networking and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology

This position is part of our Pipeline team, who are responsible for developing and advancing our software, tools, and processes in collaboration with production to bring our projects to the next level.

This opportunity is required to be located within BC and is a permanent role.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • Tool Development: Work closely with key stakeholders to design and develop tools, workflows, and processes to meet production and strategic technology needs. Contribute to the overall direction and represent pipeline in discussions with production stakeholders.  
  • Deployment: Test and release high quality code to production using git and our build systems. 
  • Support: Identify, reproduce, and resolve bugs / workflow errors.  Collaborate with stakeholders and Artists to iterate and improve tools and processes. 
  • Document: Create, and update documentation and provide training for stakeholders on new tools and processes. 
  • Collaborate: Actively engage with stakeholders and peers to improve existing systems and meet the global direction. Mentor team members on pipeline development and best practices and participate in peer code reviews. 
  • Research: Investigate and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to innovative developments. 

What You'll Bring:

  • BS+ in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience 
  • Experience developing and delivering software in a professional environment 
  • Experience with Python, C++, or other object-oriented programming language 
  • Experience with Git or other revision control system 
  • Experience with databases 
  • Experience with Windows and Linux 

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience developing for Animation or other creative industries, and their DCC applications & APIs 
  • Knowledge of networking and performance optimization 
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology (scrum) 

 

Pay Range: $80,500-$145,000 CAD per year

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
