The Staff SW QA Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in system design, operation, and testability of products. This role involves close collaboration with the QA Architect to develop and improve testing strategies, focusing on automation and customer use case integration. The engineer will design and automate system test profiles, contributing to automation coverage improvements. Responsibilities also include identifying opportunities to improve engineering productivity, working closely with leads and the QA Architect to understand customer solution deployment, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality products. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work on multiple projects, and excellent communication skills. The applicant must be self-directed, highly motivated, organized, and have a true passion for delivering quality products.
Must have:
  • BS in CS or related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in virtualization and networking.
  • Proficient at test automation and scripting (Python).
  • Experience with test automation frameworks.
  • Experience testing scalable and fault tolerant systems.
  • Knowledge of network management concepts and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing clear and concise test plans.
Good to have:
  • Experience with network testing equipment (Spirent, Avalanche, TREX).
  • Experience in security domain and vulnerability assessment.
  • Good knowledge and protocol testing experience of application protocols.

Job Details

Responsibilities:  
  • Provide technical expertise for the system design, operation and testability of our products
  • Work closely with the QA Architect in developing and improving overall testing approach and strategy
  • Work with QA Architect on System test strategy with focus on automation by integrating customer use case , scalability.
  • Design, develop and completely automating System test profiles
  • Deliver test automation code and help in driving improvements to the automation coverage
  • Identifying, leveraging, and successfully evangelizing opportunities to improve engineering productivity
  • Work closely with leads / QA Architect to understand the customer solution deployment and integration to System test profile
        
Requirements:  
·         BS in CS or related field  
·         6 to 10 years of hands-on quality, development and/or automation experience in virtualization and networking space  
·         Proficient at test automation and scripting skills (Python or some scripting language)  
·         Hand-on experience in any one of the test automation frameworks (Robot, PyTest, Python) and  
·         Demonstrated experience in testing highly scalable and fault tolerant systems including software upgrade, distributed control, and redundancy.  
·         Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, REST)  
·         Strong understanding of TCP/IP layer, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, SSL Proxy, REST services and hands on experience on testing them.  
·         Excellent Verbal and written communication skills  
·         Be self-directed, highly motivated, and organized with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and an ability to work on multiple projects and function in a team environment.  
·         Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases  
·         Must have a true passion for delivering quality products  
Nice to have:  
·         Experience with network testing equipment such as Spirent, Avalanche, TREX  
·         Experience in security domain and on vulnerability assessment is an added advantage.  
·         Good knowledge and protocol testing experience of application protocols like FTP, DNS, HTTP, SSL etc.
